Alireza Afzalipour

Alireza Afzalipour was born on March 26, 1909 in Tehran. He spent his primary studies in Ashraf, Aqdasieh and Sirous schools and also his high school in central normal school and then Sharaf School. After finishing high school in 1931, headed to France to follow his studies. He spent a year in a high school in Cherbourg to adapt to the educational system of France and get ready to enter the university. Then he entered the university of Boudreaux and received his B.Sc. in Chemistry in 1935. Later on he moved to Lille and spent two years of specialized course in Agricultural Chemistry. He returned to Iran in 1937 and was employed by Agricultural Bank in 1940 after spending two years of military service but left the governmental service in 1946 and started business, in which he was very successful and could make a fortune. At 62, he married Fakhereh Saba and decided to spend all his money for knowledge and science. His dear wife warmly received this decision and they decided to build a university in a deprived area of country, which is Kerman. Eng. Alireza Afzalipour passed away in April 7, 1993.
